A gose is a type of [beer](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gose).
But the can says it’s an ale. Is gose a type of ale the way a pilsner is a type of lager?
In short there are only 2 main types of beer. Ales and Lagers. They are determined by the what type of yeast is used and usually temperature that they are fermented at. Ales (IPA, Pale Ale, Stout, Porter, Gose) are top fermented at warmer temperatures and Lagers (Pilsner, American Lagers like Bud, Bock, Oktoberfest) are bottom fermented at colder temperatures. The "Ale" designation is required by the US government to some styles that are more obscure.
That was also not that short.
TL;DR: The type of yeast determines the category of either Lager or Ale
Some grade A info here. Thanks.
Cool. Great info, thanks. I didn’t realize that’s how it worked. You seem to know your stuff about beer. Do know how cold the fermentation has to be to produce a crisp, clear lager? Every home brewer I know makes ale because it’s easier, but I prefer a lager, and I’ve heard the cooled ferment is harder to accomplish at home, so I’ve never thought of trying myself.
Lagers are typically fermented low 40s (F). Home Brewers normally stick to ales because they ferment warmer so it’s easier and take a lot less time. An IPA can finish in about 2 weeks or less. Lagers can sometimes take up to 2 months to finish.
(I work at a brewery)
Gose is an ale. Usually a bit salted and a bit sour in taste. Also often seasoned with things like herbs or berries, fruit.
In this case it may be seasoned with the boundless contempt for all things, the essence of being a goose
Ale is beer
All ale is beer, but not all beer is ale
Gose is ale and gose is beer are not mutually exclusive statements
It's a slightly tart (sour) and salty german wheat beer. Very refreshing.
I'm generally not a fan of sours, but goses are generally somewhere in the middle and make a pretty refreshing summer beer.

Likely a 'brew your own beer' workshop where you get to name and label it.
Edit: I'm wrong! It's a thing! https://www.google.com/search?q=untitled+gose+recipe
False advertisement. Untilted is imposibrew....
Edit: then I saw tit
I haven’t seen this stuff around but now that I know what it is I’m gonna keep my eyes open for it
I love sour beers! Was it good?
I finally got around to trying it last night. It’s the first Gose I’ve had and the sour note is really great! I usually stick to IPA’s and this was a great change and addition to the selection of beers I grabbed.
Now where to buy some gose grease?
Even a bad gose is still usually pleasant enough to drink so i'd happily get a six pack right now if i could.
What proof/ alcohol percentage?
I haven’t tried it yet but it’s 5%
Kind of wish the 4 pack only came with 3 cans...
Hyunk hyunk am goose!!!
