Please don't hurt me

Starting a campaign next week with a lvl 1 wizard, planning to go Bladesinger at level 2 but for now I’ve got 9 health, 13 AC, and the sense to stay at the back of the party
>I’ve got 9 health,
look at you bragging while I'm here having war flashbacks with a lv 1 wizard from 3.5 and 6 health (duo to +2 CON)
Yea I was lucky with my rolls and got 3 16s so my con is a solid +3
Dude same, except 5 health (yes okay maybe I sorta dumped con but oh well). In my head, it made sense to take shocking grasp… but that was my only attack cantrip so I was living off of luck and shield. The only attack made on me was a nat 20 but it was enough damage that didn’t outright kill me. Level 2 now and I can’t wait to start bladesinging and avoid most hits
Once you get the blade song AC boost and some light armor it’s over
Well, I think I also run Mage armour so there’s my base AC (probably at 15 or something)
Personally I just use light armor because I like to use the spell slot for other things, and you gotta go one way or the other
Fair, I thought similarly until I discovered rest casting
Most of my campaigns don’t really do short rests
Neither do mine, rest casting is casting before a rest (short or long) finishes so you get the effect for effectively the same time but without risking using a spell slot; for example: casting spells like mage armour or foresight (if you didn’t use the level 9 slot) could become akin to having breakfast
That seems like something that can be very easily shot down by a DM
I mean yeah a dm can homebrew a rule that casting a spell interrupts a long rest instead of the raw 1 hour of interruption.
Taking 3/4 cover, smart move
This was literally me in my first ever dnd session. My wizard was in hiding from his rich family so when he saw goblins attack through a bar window he just sat back down to avoid drawing attention.
Im playing my first campaign, and my character is a wizard who hates goblins with a burning passion. Every time the DM puts us up against goblins, I go out blasting. It's *so* fun.
One time we failed our perception checks and some goblins got the drop on us and I took an arrow to the chest. I had 2 hp left and just blasted magic missle at the one who shot me. While he was mid sentence, bragging to his buddies about being a good shot, all 3 magic bolts hit him and he just evaporated. Poof.
Aggressive wizard is so fun, regardless of frailty.
