Ok asic miner rack coming along. All 10 fit and back side sealed like a wood chamber and I’ll have an exhaust fan at the top pulling all the hot air up into the attic. Work in progress

L3+s? Niceee

Expert-Grocery-5143

Thanx

[You should tape on a furnace filter on your Box fan so it can double as an air filter!](https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/52/89/84/5289843f5406768dc7d70cb6964047c9.jpg)

Expert-Grocery-5143

I have air purifiers at each corner of the room. But the filter as long as it doesn’t limit the airflow sounds good.

dpahs

It does a little, but it's worth it because it'll be catching dust

Fabulous-Flan-3583

Yep, get one sized for the ~18” box and use a 4” to avoid pulling down too many CFMs.

Matjmart

http://imgur.com/gallery/iznKV7a Some more l3 coming Home.

Berry_Mckockimur

I’m jelly, I only have 4 l3+s. Best current asic imo

rendonjr

Awesome, what about an AC?

Expert-Grocery-5143

I have a 2 ton unit fir my office and I have a split ac just for this room. Like the ones you see installed for garages

rendonjr

Nice, are the fan just to maintain the circulation?

Expert-Grocery-5143

Yes and they are all in odd spots in this pic cause I was working on the rack and had to move everything around. Excited for tomorrow to finish.

rendonjr

Nice set up! I like it

Expert-Grocery-5143

Tomorrow will be epic I can’t wait. I miss the days my friends and I use to work on cars all day. Would be fun to do this stuff with a good group

rendonjr

Are those rigs a group project with your friends?

Expert-Grocery-5143

I wish but no all my friends have moved or aren’t interested in this type of project. Wish they were though it’s definitely a fun group project.

rendonjr

Same here, everyone that I talk to in the city, has not idea what am talking about But still going strong

karl0525

Were you located? Would be cool to hangout and talk crypto

Expert-Grocery-5143

Palm beach Florida

karl0525

North Texas. 🤷

Expert-Grocery-5143

Fail lol

Fly_lyce

What kind of cars? Imports or domestics?

Expert-Grocery-5143

Well we were 16ish so they were imports I didn’t get into domestics till I was about 30.

Fly_lyce

Was real big into Honda's back in the early 90's. I miss the car days too. Lol Got into mining back in 2017, got scared when btc crashed and sold my cards. Then got back into it again late 2020.

Expert-Grocery-5143

Fans are only to move the hot air from the rigs to the exhaust fans in the ceiling. Last thing you want is hot air standing still

rendonjr

Smart

MSM-MySecretMe

Dude ! What’s the db rating in that room ?

Expert-Grocery-5143

Not as bad as you would think if you keep the asic mining at around 540mh each it’s pretty good. If you push them above 600mh you can’t hear a word lol

MSM-MySecretMe

Bit of sacrifice for alot of relief 😮‍💨

fat_toaster

Where are you sourcing your Asics from?

Expert-Grocery-5143

Mainland China Leed Electronics if you contact them please tell them Frank referred you helps me out on my orders! I’m sure you get it

kookykrazee

Can you message me/tell me more about what you recommend for starting. I have a home office, but that could easily be converted to a mining room.

Expert-Grocery-5143

Yeap

KingOfColaSC

Got contact info? Couldn’t find them.

nighttrain_21

You should pump the hot air straight out of the building instead of the attic if possible. In the winter you can just reverse the fan and heat the office.

Expert-Grocery-5143

Florida no winter here lol but where I’m building this exhaust is already a heat release for the attic so it will exhaust out the roof.

Prestigious-Lemon-58

Come back in a year and let us know how your mold problem is in the attic. I lived in Sarasota man, ask any HVAC specialist. Your mining profits gonna be used for hazmat mold cleanup 😂

Chimanji

Why would he get a mold problem, he's pushing dry hot air in his attic, wouldn't that minimize his risk for mold build up?

JamesTrendall

If your exhaust fan is going to be pulling the hot air from the rack you will need to calculate how much air is being drawn in by each miner then make sure your exhaust fan is capable of that air flow. Failing to do this you will end up with a build up of heat in the racks very quickly. To help you might wish to add a bottom mounted fan to draw cool air in the same as the top fan to get the heat out but again you will need a much more aggressive fan on top as the exhaust otherwise you will have positive airflow which will create a hot pocket inside.

Expert-Grocery-5143

Redit really needs to allow pics in comments… but yes I’m going to have each asic pipe into a T they will push the hot air out of them and at the top I will have 2 very powerful 8” server fans that we use in our racks to pull the air out into the attic. The asic fans are extremely powerfull. I decided against closing it in and am building shafts for each miner to exhaust out

h2t2

This is dam awesome. I just built my first rig using a few GPUs and I'm excited. A bit worried I'm a little late... But hopeful. Best wishes and Good Luck!

Expert-Grocery-5143

Thanks man if I can help in anyway just PM me best of luck to you as well. I don’t think you got in late. Crypto isn’t going anywhere

Prestigious-Lemon-58

Sweet Jesus don’t exhaust to your attic unless you want to have a condemned house due to toxic mold. Vent outside

Expert-Grocery-5143

It will be vented up through the roof using same setup at exhaust fans for bathrooms

Grungble

Winter is coming friend, heat ur house with it people have done it.

alainchiasson

He’s in Florida - there is no winter.

Grungble

Oh, I didn’t know that

DizzyRoc

Looking good. my 2cents.. put something underneath those power supplies on the metal rack like a 2 sided sticky pad or something. I can see those power supplies (specifically those lol) vibrating right off that surface

Expert-Grocery-5143

Thanx will do and good call

scooter-maniac

I've been into mining for 6 days and I'm already $10k deep into hardware. How far did you go before you were net positive?

Expert-Grocery-5143

The ROI if you get deals always stays the same no matter how much you spend 6 months to a year. At the pint I’m at I can now buy a 3070 every week and still be positive $500 a week. Trust me at the end of the road it’s good. But that path is full of pot holes and ass holes! Feel free to PM me anytime the more of us that work together the better the mining life becomes

Fancy-Deer9499

awesome man I live in w boynton but started a mine in GA.Ive got a question I set up ach deposits through Coinbase pro first payout is taking forever .mon will be start of my 3rd week waiting for money and customer service sucks. How long did it take you to get 1st payout.?

Expert-Grocery-5143

A lot less time then that

Fancy-Deer9499

Gotcha we are running 33 t17+bitcoin miners on pro hashing and 50 l3+ scrypt been up 54days running and right now there is abacklog on coinbase pro .Learning that we should have set up daily ach deposits sooner than we did but hey the money will get there eventually...Happy mining

Expert-Grocery-5143

Thanks man and good luck setup sounds sick

Fancy-Deer9499

So far so good except for payouts .lol anyway the best to you too.Peace

Gwsb1

Ok that's cool as fuck. I love how you are cooling a couple of hundred gs worth of computer equipment with 2 fans you would expect to see in a dorm room. That's next level engineering.

Expert-Grocery-5143

Lol assumptions are hilarious you can only see 1/10 of the room and u think that come up with that. It’s all good man im sure you have your reasons.

betmonforever

Please tell me where you got the box fan. I absolutely love it.

Expert-Grocery-5143

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

betmonforever

Pretty please?

programmingnate

How are you handling all the wattage in that room? I’m flipping breakers daily with my rigs

Expert-Grocery-5143

I have a 3 phase commercial breaker box that’s pretty empty. Be carful if your flipping breakers it’s cause you have to much load on the line. The breaker is popping to keep the wires melting and catching on fire.

SonnyA85

I'm using the same Corsair PSU but they don't come with enough pcie leads. Where and what ones are you getting to get the max out of the PSU?

Expert-Grocery-5143

I bought them on eBay just more Corsair pcie psu cables

SonnyA85

You got a link? I don't really trust non branded cables

Expert-Grocery-5143

No I mean go on eBay and buy Corsair pcie cable. People sell them by the box

morgin_black1

why dont you duct the air of this room around your house, central heating?

Expert-Grocery-5143

Florida lol

justseanv67

And there you have it: Florida answers all questions great or small. Nothing will be cool and low temps lol

Expert-Grocery-5143

Yeah it’s dumb hot all the time
