Unknown Pleasures - Joy Division
Station to station by David Bowie

Well, I looked this up and listened to a few tracks. Crushed. Thanks, I guess.
Discovery - Daft Punk
Came here to comment this, W.
22 a million- Bon Iver
I’m marrying my husband bc of this album
I just posted this one too. Happy to see others.
plastic beach - gorillaz
Solid. Their first three full albums are amazing. I can never decide between Gorillaz, Demon Days and Plastic Beach
Empire ants is amazing
Probably plastic beach for me too man. There's just singing about the those songs and come on, melancholy hill instant classic
nice one, i would have said Demon Days personally
Age of Adz by Sufjan
Carrie and Lowell too..
John Coltrane - My favorite things or Jeff Buckley Grace
is this it - the strokes
Is it just me or do a lot of Kanye fans like the Strokes? My friend introduced me to them and he’s a hardcore Kanye fan too
I remember there was a playlist curated by Kanye on iTunes many years ago, and Kanye listed The Strokes as one of his favorite bands. There’s definitely a connection between Kanye and The Strokes
Their newest album was produced by Rick Ruben. So the connection can be easy to get into
The Adults Are Talking is so fucking good
The New Abnormal as a whole was one of my favorites from 2020
Gonna float a theory and if I’m wrong I’ll take the downvotes. If you’re a Kanye fan in their late 30s, Is This It was about the only rock album you could put on at a party and not get heckled into switching it back to hip hop.
The Strokes is like the perfect 'vibes' music to put on for like a more low key house gathering. It's energetic enough to keep people tuned in, but not like overwhelmingly turnt up and in your face.
Basically the strokes are just super good. They’re interesting, relatable, badass like we wish we were, and catchy. It’s kinda insane they’ve stayed on the fray of being underground. I mean I know they’re low key super huge but like the strokes have gotten like a third of the recognition they deserve. They should have been as big as the killers.
Pretty much spot on!
I feel like the overlap is definitely there. They also tend to love tame impala.
Fantastic choice. A landmark/defining album in modern alt rock. Love this one so much
Was literally going to reply with this. ITI is perfect front to back.
their newest album is fire too
Dude fr it's so gas
The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails. If you like Yeezus check it out
the downward spiral is their magnum opus imo though. one of the best albums oat
Loveless - MBV
Facts, can't believe this is so low. mbv slaps ass too
Random Acces Memories by Daft Punk
‘Touch’ belongs in a museum.
Top 10 song oat honestly
Just listened to it twice. What an ensemble.
Instant Crush is a classic
Charli XCX - How I'm Feeling Now
I wish she made more songs like "pink diamond". The whole album is great, but that song is so damn good.
I have it on vinyl, great album
I prefer Pop 2 though definitely
Animals by Pink Floyd
Yep! Piggybacking on this one
I got WYWH
stone… stone… stone….
Radiohead also hits the sweet spot that I really respect Kanye for, they excelled in their craft in one genre and then transcended that genre and continued being great.
They’re also an artist that continues to change their sound every release like Kanye.
Ahh yes, Radiohead’s Yeezus
That album changed the way I hear music singlehandedly
Kid A I think was the first time that I feel like I've ever been 'blown away' by music. Like dude how is someone creative enough to create that?
I was in a dark spot when I first heard “How to Disappear Completely” and I finally understand how powerful music can attach to your emotions. Just simply one of the most iconic projects of any group of all time.
How to disappear completely is one of the best song of all time
Preferred OK Computer, but Kid A is amazing
Wow you all have great taste in music
Well we are Ye fans. 😎🌊
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Weird Fishes and Jigsaw Falling Into Place are two of the greatest songs of all time and everybody who thinks otherwise is wrong

Oracular Spectacular - MGMT
Classic classic choice
transatlanticism - death cab for cutie
this album gave me depression at 13, definitely worth it
Holy fuck didn’t expect to see this here
Bad Brains - Bad Brains
Kickass 80's punk record that is insanely catchy and the band has a cool backstory.
Off The Wall!! Michael Jackson’s best album
"modern day MJ with an off the wall flow"
Love Off The Wall up until the slower tunes... Gets a bit too cheesy for me lol
I will say tho, yo can't get much cooler than Michael on the cover
Time n place - kero kero Bonito
kkb stays undefeated
My fav is Bonito Generation because I love my life
A man of culture
Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, just quality through and through
oh yeah great take here. not a bad song on the whole thing
The production is INSANE on every single song
Bloom - Beach house
Thank u, I also have very fond memories to Depression Cherry
Myth is a top 10 song ever for me
drukqs by aphex twin. Not the album I'd introduce someone to him or the genre, but it weirdly reminds me a little of tlop, being a bit all over the place, having strange interludes throughout but ultimately building toward a fantastic overall mood and sound.
Also Kanye sampled April 14 for Blame Game
1999, by Prince. Released at the height of the Cold War, it’s an album about partying at the end of the world. We’re not going to make it to the year 2000, so tonight we party like it’s 1999 baby!
1999 is such a great album. First half are the club bangers and the second half is more experimental. Prince is definitely my favorite artist but idk if I like 1999 or Sign “☮️” The Times more.
Nevermind. It’s punkish but not like Bleach, and it’s poppy, but not like straight sellout pop lol.
Michael Jackson - Thriller (Album)
hounds of love - kate bush
Kate bush is amazing
W, same here
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
Sam’s Town - The Killers
The Glow, Pt. 2 by the Microphones

Stevie Wonder - Music of my mind
Solange - When I get home

Didn’t expect to see Lily Allen here. It’s Not Me It’s You one of the best pop albums oat imo
Was thinking of commenting this one!
Great choice by Carseat Headrest
Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not - Arctic Monkeys
Hounds of Love- Kate Bush

The Wall - Pink Floyd
I know some people who like Pink Floyd are annoying “born in the wrong generation” type people but seriously, this album is fantastic front to back.
Bro no need to defend yourself. The genius of the wall speaks for itself and anybody who's heard it will understand why you chose it
It really is, the concept is crazy
Weezer - Pinkerton/ Nirvana- In Utero
Based Pinkerton enjoyer
slint - spiderland

The slow rush-Tame Impala
Siamese Dream- the smashing pumpkins
Since I Left You - The Avalanches
In Rainbows - Radiohead
Back to Black by Amy Winehouse
Currents - Tame Impala
Absolute banger. The bass and beats on that album vibe so hard
I have no idea how a single person made this album, it’s miraculous how talented and creative Kevin is. It feels like Currents was tailor made for my ears specifically
Lonerism is also insane
Funhouse - The Stooges. Everyone should check this out raw visceral shit
Deloused in the Comatorium - The Mars Volta. Really great band.
the black parade - my chemical romance
the velvet underground & nico
Forgot to comment my pop albuns:
how I'm feeling now - Charli XCX
Emotion - Carly Rae Jepsen
Giles Corey by Giles Corey. At least, that’s my favorite right now.
Amazing album. I listened to it the first time on the train basically drifting in and out of consciousness and it was an incredibly haunting experience. I'm a massive fan of Have a Nice Life too. Obviously deathcon is great but The Unnatural World is up there for my favourite album of all time.
Who hurt you
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Etazhi by Molchat Doma
Grace - Jeff Buckley
Doolittle at the moment
My Bloody Valentine - mbv
vespertine by björk or drukqs by aphex (and no it’s not because of the kanye sample!!)
Jane Doe by Converge
The Black Saint and Sinner Lady - Charles Mingus
LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening

I was about to say Swimming by Mac Miller but then I see the "non hip-hop" so I got go with The Velvet Underground and Nico, man what a pice of album
The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
Vespertine by Björk
Dirt - Alice In Chains
Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen or what’s the story morning glory by oasis
Art angels - Grimes
Abbey Road - The Beatles
Isolation - Kali Uchis
Hard to pick just one, but one of them is Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Yves Tumor - Heaven to a Tortured Mind
Nirvana - Nevermind
I listen to 95% hip hop but Nevermind may be my favorite, if not most listened to, album of all time
Not necessarily my favourite non hip hop album but “awaken my love” is a good example of a rapper not rapping on an album
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this one, seriously a masterpiece imo
Pink Floyd - Animals
Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion
Belle and Sebastian - Tigermilk
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
The downward spiral -nine inch nails
The Idler Wheel by Fiona Apple
