Do any of the chocolate aussiedoodles stay chocolate?

https://imgur.com/a/1PGYsk4 My kiddo is still maintaining his brown at 9 months. He did lose his phantom coat a bit, which blended to the rest of his body and lightened. His head and neck kept his dark brown but the body coat has whites in there which lightened him overall.

Seems like fading is super common. We had never heard of this “fading gene” before, so the first time he went to the groomer and came back a different colour was pretty confusing haha

My tri-reds are losing puppy coats and are that exact color. I love the mushroom color, but the red was so striking with their phantom markings. It’s a straw-colored phantom against the taupe, sigh.

Blue Merle owner here, and she’s mostly grey and white now. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Weird, my blue Merle is still fully splotchy with colors

I see your profile. Your dog is gorgeous!!! The only place ours has black anymore is her ears. Genetics are funny.

He is sooooo handsome! Our poor guy is too rambunctious during grooming to get perfect legs like that 😆

Aww! How old is he?

TurdsofWisdom

1.5 years ish

Very cute. My ~4 month old chocolate baby might look like yours one day

It is so interesting how much their color changes. It always surprises me, He is a good looking boy no matter what color, that’s for sure.
