Am I the only one that still finds it weird that I’m getting attacked at Dragon Palace still? It has been almost 3 years since the 1000 Year Ark released, you’d think all the retainers and other enemies would just chill out now.
I thought i was a man rich enough to get like 10 characters to max friendship in LoM. Turns out i can only do.. isuka and hismena
4/25, maxed saki and operator before. Sigh, no mighty so i have to suck it up and go fukahire
I'm glad people are happy for the new story, but I don't like seeing the sub filled with nothing but screenshots for a few days. Oh well.
You know, i have a habit of reading the question thread for gacha game i play. Now almost like 5/7 questions are “who should i SDE?”
Im waiting for someone to make a guide for this. ~~Free karma ez karma~~
I did a text one before, but Palo has been doing nice flowcharts which people like better so I'll leave it to him.
I like both!
It seems like SDE this time could be simplified by:
- no pizzica? SDE her
- which zones are missing?
- key units to a certain strat
I really don't know who to pick for the SDE. I don't need any unit.
ES Nagi - have 1 codex already
ES Isuka - I'm fine playing the codex game
Mistrare - coming back on banner soon
Garambarrel - with Flamlapis that I plan to pull on
I also wanted Radias. Could pick AS Hozuki and finally finish all the plays. Maybe Daisy. Milsha would be nice to have but not really SDE worthy.
Just do it to 255 shadow our lord and savior, chiruiru
Mistrare second character quest is undeniably long. Started the quest probably at 23.25, finished it at.. 00.20
She’s true waifu material though
Oh is that the one with all the character cameos? Definitely super long, but totally worth it to see everyone show up!
Yeah the race
Dunarith x Aldo fanfic chapter 1 is up, for my fellow not-quite-degenerates...
It is totally not based on my fantasies of dating! (It is totally based on my fantasies of dating)
you should also avoid my other works... it's what happens when a high schooler discovers fanfiction
Just finished the CC symphony that I started a month ago. Only Kid's route tho. There's so many question in my head right now lmao.
Mainly due to no prior knowledge of CC and I know I have promised to play CC first before doing the symphony (Heck, I even said that I will play BOTH games if the remaster comes out. Silly ol' me). But since I got a job, I haven't find my work-life balance yet...
The free 10 summon is nowhere in sight. Sigh, if this were FFBE the main sub would be exploding right now
Which is weird because FFBE seems to have a free 10-summon per day, year-round.
No i mean we would bitch about this nonsense promises, like fragment dungeon 6 months ago
Do you mean one from the social media campaign? Hang tight, mate! It's coming soon along the Lost Lab Mythos
Whoa nice. Is it coming with the anniversary?
I guess so. They've been holding the Mythos to match the anniversary or something like that
I get a kick out of the "Occasional Stat Down" ore. It's like, yeah when we feel like it we'll work. Otherwise not, idk whatever.
so i just started, is there any rewards for new players or not?
No, there might still be 1k stones if you start the Chrono Cross collab though.
thats wild, that sucks.
So I'm not sure where to put this best. Was about to make a new discussion topic but I fear the wrath of u/OpenStars ;-D
Should we farm and/or spend the monthly l/s on the CC characters?
-I think they can do reasonable damage yet are even better as support
-would probably profit most from the 4th ability slot
-can be grasta mules for their weapon type, but have no personality
on the other side:
-the dungeon gives neither chants nor tomes (yeah, treatises)
-giving l/s from the trials to non-gacha might be considered a waste
I'm very indecisive who I should farm after Clarte and who of my chars gets the trial l/d.
I want to do an AD that also gives tomes for the special crystals and gave all my trial points to Nagi until now which I'll probably continue since it will not take me forever to get her up as a subscriber.
What are your opinions?
Fwiw I fear my own wrath so hard that I usually post here as well.:-) That said, you may get a quicker answer in the questions mega-thread?
So now to prove myself wrong by answering it already: I don't have the link handy but this issue was discussed and people found that the CC chars were GOOD, even GREAT, yet they don't GROW as much with increasing light/shadow as e.g. Aldo. Probably utility-wise, Aldo wins hands-down, and since shadow is harder to do (fewer chars that use and also no Strawboy equivalent), Clarte AS is another contender for 2nd after him. Others are quite strong though - >!Guildna!<, Cyrus, Feinne (although her buggy extreme damage glitch will probably be fixed, this nerfing her), etc., so feel free to pick whoever you would enjoy grinding for, this is just for utility. Grastas mean so much more though, so ANYONE with good grastas could beat out anyone without. i.e., it's not super critical to pick the "best" one (though I haven't unlocked grastas yet personally so this is heresay from me -> definitely listen to people who actually know or do your own research to confirm).
And as someone who picked an episode character, Jade - I love the artwork and music and he's a good pain setter so not a horrible choice except for the lack of Tomes/Treatises/Codices & Chant Scripts from his dungeon - I can personally attest that I REALLY feel the difference in not getting those from his dungeon. e.g. water and wind zone setting is not offered by free chars, or by anyone who doesn't have an AS, so I REALLY feel the lack of e.g. having all of Chiyo & Shigure & Yuna & Veina, etc. but not being able to upgrade any of them to AS/ES (and soon, also alter). Then again, Garulea offers those - right? - so half of this is my own fault for both picking Jade *and* doing Otherlands before Garulea. Still, if you pick a CC character, just be aware that you will go slower in this regard - which you might be 100% fine with, so long as you are aware of the cost upfront.
I would NOT spend l/s from the trials on non-gacha chars, but it all depends on how much you value things. We have players here on this sub who have stuck with this game from it's very beginning -> if you too want to take the long view, then this is the way. On the other hand if you think you'll leave the game in like a year, then that changes your calculations and it might be okay. Again, just count the cost, but in the end ONLY you can make the decision of what is best for YOU.
So, I'd say you have a good handle on things already: Nagi for trial l/s, then whoever you want for farming them in dungeons, prioritizing whatever matters most to you -> if utility then Aldo (unless you really want a shadow for reaching 360, then maybe >!Guildna!<), but really at this point pick whatever sounds FUN for the grind!? (unless the lack of Tomes/Treatises/Codices is too much to bear, and then constrain yourself to those dungeons that offer them)
Or you can gamble. In the past half a year, Aldo got good, Levia got an AS, sometime "soon" (probably not until March at least but sometime shortly after that), >!Azami will gain a True Manifest, according to the [wiki](https://anothereden.miraheze.org/wiki/Upcoming_Content)!<, and who knows what the future will bring. The CC chars are good now, but I'm hoping for Jade to get an AS as well.:-) Mine is at 140 shadow so hopefully by the time I reach 255 it'll happen! If he gets an alter instead though...well I'll just have to live with that.:-D
Edit: oh, and also Feinne has the shortest path with fewest battles in her dungeon BKC, so she's perfect for someone with limited time who just wants to dump keys somewhere where they won't be completely wasted. That's part of the reason I chose Jade, whose dungeon was extremely easy even as an early-game player with few characters, no manifests, not even having made time to do the Four Tales quest yet, but still wanting to spend at least a month's worth of keys somewhere that offered a "pleasant" experience that would make me actually look forward to doing it each day. But that was a special case, and if there's no dungeon like that for you, then hers is at least the shortest:-D.
Thanks for your answer, it is, once again very long. I'll post in the Q&A thread, yet give you some infos here.
I'm also around very long already, since AE released in my region, Global Wave 1, and I'm pretty experienced(though bad in the game).
-I'm a dolphin, I easiely have enough l/s for every purpose actual l/s is needed
-I'm a chant hoarder. Don't need, barely use but still want them
-farmed Aldo, Guildna, Skull to the max. Doing Clarte and Gariyu now
-the distance of the route does not matter so much, with grasta and badges I can choose the amount of fights - and I need two for a full AF - which I usually do to ensure the boss battle win
The main part of the answer
You are right with your take on Grasta and that is my point exactely. The value (for me) is not so much l/s itself or if a char noticably profits from that (Aldo and Serge esp.), but the increased capabilities. The added slots are usually most valuable. Grasta mules are most important for superbosses.
The thing I often dislike of AE is that there are only three ability slots. Many chars would profit from more abilites and then there is gear giving chars an even bigger pool to choose from. Hence my question, since the CC chars with their elements have the widest set of them all.
I strongly advice you (and any other people in my late posts) to progress. There are many good reasons for swift progression(you probably know).
I myself have not progressed to the end overall and that sometimes makes it hard to go back. You may get overwhelmed by the content released and suddenly the only thing you do is grind.
Yeah, yesterday I did all 4 of Dunarith's character quests (amazing!:-), 1 for Bivette, 1 for Claude (NOT so amazing... but I'm thinking for him to be my wind zone setter), 1 for Breeno (just bc!:-P), etc. Some others - especially Melissa - I'm purposefully saving for later, in her case bc I only have her 4-star, though am thinking of using Chants on her even though I already have Hardy AS, even if purely for her story. But while doing that helped me feel less "behind" on the long list of them I had started to accumulate - I used to do each one as they came up, until I fell behind due to my decision to get the extra Mythos CS rewards, which ofc also required Main Story part 1.5 to get the 2nd half of those - I now also feel like I need to catch up by starting the Complex Dream, and ofc in the midst of all this comes the new Purgatory Ensemble as well. What happened!? I used to enjoy taking this game super slow, and now I feel like I'm rushing through the content!:-( Though at the same time, I also held back, hoping for a guiding light reward for story progression, which lately I abandoned in favor of meow coins.:-P (and bc someone convinced me that the final one is unachievable anyway bc they only ever come along with new story development, at which point there would perpetually be the newest story that I would be behind on if I didn't skip one of them)
So if games are for "enjoyment" and "fun", then I now regret having sped forward. More precisely, I don't regret being pushed past chapter 25 by that guiding light drop half a year ago - it was pretty much time for that anyway, and while it slowed down me approaching things like the Four Tales Symphony, it was enjoyable and I enjoyed the rewards from it all (even though I got nothing notable from the actual drop itself!). I just finished the last Bat Fangs from Snake Liver Damaku last week, and the last Dragon Bearer Psalm like yesterday! I may barely use the Cruel Angel gear going forward, but at least now I have it all!:-D But I do regret pushing forward to the 2nd part of Main Story part 1.5, and having to try to juggle Snake Liver Damaku and Toto Dreamland at the same time. Ironically I finished the latter first (bc I can't stand SLD's artwork and started running it only once a week), and just got the last Brawler Psalm a few weeks ago, so finished it at almost the same time as SLD.
And now I feel the draw of pushing forward yet again, to start in on Zerberiya with red keys... but I gotta resist, bc I'll blow through the rest of the game too quickly if I push too fast, and I have other things to catch up on in the meantime. Complex Dream will need all my attention going forward, I'm sure...so now maybe need to get the Ensemble out of the way first!?:-P
I understand you and it was not too long ago when I finished the last 4-star char quest. Because I let them sit there because they don't go away.
As I said, with late game gear you can do this farming and so on more efficiently(if you are not one-shotting them already with some gacha char) and not waste so much time on. I also got every piece of gear, but not always right along the way.
Well, do as you like and enjoy the game.
CC is time limited so...
Also has nice weapons that don't need to be painfully upgraded :-)
Part of it is dependent on WHEN you start. I assume the Chrono Cross bonuses must have expired by now, because one of my friends started at the beginning of the month and received 1,600 CS before it was even possible TO roll for characters, along with enough XP Scrolls to level Aldo to 50 before the first fight. I imagine their beginning experience was a lot different than my own. :)
While I’ll agree you have to scratch and claw to get currency at the beginning compared to other games, the thing that separates it from other games is it takes a lot longer to run OUT of ways to collect it. Granted, part of that is due to three years of content, but it’s nice for ‘Achievement Hunters’ to actually get a little currency for each of the thousands of different awards they complete during their journey.
Many other games will be generous at the start, hoping that people will use all that premium currency right away, get used to being able to draw for characters that frequently, and use real money to scratch that itch once the honeymoon period is over and they only get one 10-draw a month. I’d rather have a game like AE where you never NEED to spend anything or draw for a single character, and there’s no PvP to make you feel like you’re losing out on additional free currency because you haven’t spent enough to compete there.
Your mileage may vary, of course. I’m a “Hoardlord” by nature, so I usually treat Gems/Crystals/Quartz/Stones/Whatever as a “high score” in games, and once I reach the point that I can’t proceed without premium characters, that’s when I drop it. I find I usually have a much better experience that way than using overpowered characters from the very beginning and once I reach the midpoint realizing “Hey, I never actually learned how to PLAY this game.” :)
Yeah, in the end I don’t think I could ever be part of a team designing a Gacha-style game. Because your ultimate objective is to design a game that’s defective in some way, but by performing in-game purchases you can diminish or (temporarily) eliminate those defects while playing.
It took me quite some time to make the jump between “Why was Game X released with this obvious design flaw that even a five-year old should have noticed?” to “Oh, that’s where the money comes from - people eventually get sick of all the little delays and limitations and try to BUY their way past it.” When all they’re really doing is speeding their way past one roadblock so they can reach the NEXT wall faster and have the same issue all over again.
At this point I’ve played enough of them that I could probably design one that would prey on people’s wallets in rather effective ways, but I’m not sure if I’d be able to live with myself afterwards. :/
Another Eden still targets the “Gotta catch ‘em all” crowd, but at least I can watch the character quests on YouTube for those characters that never decide to come home so I’m not missing all that much. It’s not as good as a stand-alone RPG experience would be in regards to gameplay or power creep, but it’s less offensive to me than some of the alternatives out there.
Can’t you start the free heaven’s trials and pick 7 for a 5*?
i dont think the free 4* package was created when subs existed. that was probably created way back when the game launched and 4*s were viable for playing the game but power creep has made them irrelevant. feels like they haven't updated their free package for new players.
Not really, if anything, WFS’s sin is not upping the difficulty of chapter 13-55 to make it not mind numbing my easy with new and manifest units.
I said f*ck it May is cute on my first play though and she got a 5*. :D
I don't know why, but I'm lacking motivation to continue on with getting the rest of my backlog of Superbosses finished. I want them done for the stones and rewards/equipment, but it almost feels more like a chore rather than enjoyment.
The thought of switching out everyone's grasta, grasta enchantments, etc, etc, over and over...just seems like piles of annoyance. I've caught up pretty significantly over the past few weeks, but there's still a bunch left. Like for an example; I've yet to tackle any of the Dual Spirit battles for any of the Void weapons.
I love this game, but lately I find myself getting really bored of it. I'm at endgame so there's really not a whole lot to do. Every time a new Story content is released, it's over within a few blinks of the eyes. And besides some Superbosses, there's not much left for me to grind out on.
Fishing 2.0 is getting hella boring doing the same routine and the exp gain is molasses. I still do it...but...
Patiently waiting for the Anniversary stuff and new/more content.
There's nothing worse than loving and wanting to play a fantastic game, but there's really nothing for me to do.
I'd run ADs, but they're gated by keycards.
Sorry, had to do some venting.
My motivation is so bad, I can't even keep track of what I'm missing anymore. Here's my current sticky note:
* 4 Spirits
* boss rush
* moon mena refight
* Artificial spirits
* Dojo fight
* Dual Hachiyou
I hear ya! I made a half-assed list, but I don't even remember all of them I have left to fight, especially the second re-watch for some of the bosses.
Still haven't done the True Spirit for the Tales of Collab, need to do all the newer Geometry shapes or whatever they're called, along with the Dual Hachiyou/Spirits.
I know there's a few more scattered in there.
I won't be touching the the Purgatory Superboss for a while though as from what I've read/watched, it sound alike a real annoying battle.
It's Winter time in my area, so it's the best time to try getting this crap done...bu my motivation to actually sit down and map out the fights is just...not really there.
Do you know if someone has sat down and made complete Superboss list somewhere? It seems like one *should* be floating around somewhere, but I haven't came across one. The only postings I've seen is along the lines of: "check out Palo's Roadmap" which is very helpful, but not a concise and orsngized list.
Palo's roadmap has them but only up to when he stopped. The geometry ones are the artificial spirits btw.
The altema site has a list but it's all in JP and not organized well last I looked.
I think I'm going to sift though the Roadmap and try putting together a comprehensive list.
I tend to avoid using Altema (personally) since I don't know the language and I find navigating it really annoying. Even with Google Translate.
You might give serious thought as to what you hope to get out of the game going forward. As I see it, the game has 3 parts to it:
1) story - the only mandatory part, needing to unlock areas before you can go there. Varies widely in enjoyment level, also in character quests, also depending on the person receiving it. Can be done entirely with free chars, including older Power-Crept superbosses, and dungeons too, though gacha chars ofc make it a ton easier, e.g. Tsubame AS >> Joker's VC for both power & utility (less clicking). *This* is primarily why AE is the most F2P-friendly game I've ever heard of.
2) grinding, including the biggest one, gacha waifu/husbando collection - gotta catch 'em all!:-P Gacha can ofc be completely ignored for doing the Main Story, but does unlock character quests, and is at least somewhat mandatory for the next part. Grinding can be done minimally - with free chars personal weapons - or intensely, as in every dungeon in the game offers CS. Most of the grinding is extremely F2P-friendly as in you don't need to purchase additional "stuff" (aka keys) with irl money, though waifu/husbando collection will take YEARS that way and never be fully finished as new chars are constantly added, so this is where being P2W helps the most.
3) optional superboss trouncing (I was going to say trumping but I don't think we can ever use that word the same again...:-P) -> depends on both of the former being done. As you say, tedious, and the reward is in the "achievement", though not everyone enjoys all the effort required or gets much of an achievement feeling from having done it. If you only do the easiest bosses, then not much of the former is required (right!? just put 3 pain grastas on each char and have at it?:-P okay that is WAY too oversimplified...or is it, as Uquaji doesn't even need grastas at all with flash zone?:-), but ofc for the harder ones a ton of grinding can be necessary.
Then perhaps making "fan art" and such goes along with part 1, while making guides goes more with part 3, and yes preparing grastas would be part 2. I'm saying then that doing superbosses is a WHOLE OTHER GAME than the AE that you've already played though so far - and yet even if you enjoy that specific part, it requires SO MUCH of part 2 that if you don't enjoy that...then why do it?
Alternative thought: could you take kind of a break from the game, where you just farm Garulea & a battery for like half a year, and would that give you enough grasta materials to not have to do as much work reconfiguring each time? I'm not senior enough to answer it but I thought I'd offer the thought at least as a question in case it helps.
Same boat here. I haven't touched the dual hachiyos, though I promised myself I'd get it done when Pizzica was released.
Ultra optimizing teams (grasta, equipment, badges, etc) for every superboss is just exhausting. I'd also have to memorize the moveset of the boss, then create specific rounds of buff/debuff.
It feels like a quiz that you have to do over and over again till you get a super perfect score. Definitely feels like a chore.
>It feels like a quiz that you have to do over and over again till you get a super perfect score. Definitely feels like a chore.
This right here is a good analogy. It does feel that way.
I don't mind superbosses, etc. I miss the days where you could go into battles blindly, play around with the fights, but still could actually fiddle around and make mistakes...bit correct them, etc. They were actually fun.
Now, it's like you mentioned. One small mistake and somebody dies (or multiple people die) and the entire battle is just wiped and trashed.
In the same boat, and I think someone pointed out last time the poor grasta and equipment UI has a lot to do with it for me IMO. Switching grasta and gear is such a chore.
Hopefully WFS understands and sees that they need to do some UI and QoL changes, rather than just focus on new characters and new banners.
Even when they push out updates, they're (more often than not) extremely buggy. It's like nobody from AE logs on and pokes around the game before an update goes live. Very poor quality control of you ask me...I've been trying to ignore it and give the benefit of doubt, but after a while, it just starts to get old. Real fast.
Sadly, the corporate types seem to be taking over and the game is currently shifting from its initial focus on fantasy & fun to making money -> which ofc is why there are so many new chars, and they are so powerful compared to old ones. Every modern game does this, so it was inevitable. Hopefully you can still find some enjoyment in the game.
Not sure what to do next in the game, I just unlocked FGAD not too long ago, but haven't finished grinding all the rewards for Antiquity's AD yet...for this reason, I don't really want to progress in the story (beginning GoT Pt 3 conclusion) just yet.
However, I'd like to start tackling some of the superbosses, but even using a lot of the best units (Tsukiha ES, Melissa, Pizzica, etc.), I still get decimated...so I guess I need to start farming top tier grasta. But tbh, I rather do without grasta, it's one of the few things I don't like about the game, even though I get that it gives you the edge in tough battles. And to get the best grasta, I probably have to complete GoT, which I'm not ready to do yet.
tl;dr: I don't know what to do in the game, don't want to start GoT Pt 3 conclusion just yet, and don't want to use grasta, even though I probably need to.
I think the same way. But the optional superbosses are entirely gated by either extreme Power Creep chars, or else grastas (or in some rare cases, extreme efforts & knowledge of in-game mechanics, such as the F2P strategy for the end boss of Mythos), so you really can't expect to make much headway on them unless you put in either the time and/or effort required, they just aren't designed to be beat that way.
Rather, think of them as something offered to end-game veterans who have already finished the story and now want something else to do. Sadly, the game SHOWS you these superbosses LONG before a F2P player you can really do anything about them -> this is part of their gacha strategy to encourage you to spend irl money to pull Power Creep chars who can do it. An example is the Unseen from Mythos: with grastas you can do it easily, *or* with both Melissa (flash zone & break) *and* Thillelille (extreme shade DPS). Now with the extremely powerful Chrono Cross Collab chars there probably are additional ways to pull it off -> but it's not meant to be "trivial" in any case, even though at some (probably future) time it will become thus, due to Power Creep. Other examples are the Tempered Hound such from the First Knight quest - which notably drop grasta materials anyway, so even if someone could manage to beat them before unlocking grastas (I believe it's definitely possible, paying extremely close attention to its mechanics aka it's weakpoints and knowledge of exactly what it does on each turn), it doesn't really offer much reward anyway.
An example that I've shared before is when I fought the Silver Illusion (to unlock Jade's 5-star), back when my top fire DPS was Radias and m!Shion (NS or AS), I could barely scratch it even with a full AF bar, but then when I got Hardy AS, I ROYALLY BOTCHED that battle, but won anyway, no "strategy" required:-(. I mean, I haven't even unlocked grastas yet at all, and I left him equipped with the Apprentice Fists, I forgot to move him to the front row first so didn't start with flash zone, and I forgot to give Yipha (for blunt zone) any equipment at all, but I still managed to easily cheese a fight that I had zero chance at beating prior to pulling him. Power Creep in this game is...EXTREME.:-(
So the fact that you feel this "tension" where you see those bosses and want to do them but can't (yet), is part of the predatory nature of all gacha games. Your choices are to give in & spend money (e.g. an SDE or subscription service to get the chars you need to beat them), or to resist & grind instead. Many people do one or both and greatly enjoy the results...but not all people, and in any case you need to lean into the game mechanics if you want to enjoy all that the game has to offer. i.e., you can't both *not* get grastas *and* beat the super-tough optional super-bosses at the same time. Though you can put off the latter until later, when you are more prepared? They'll still be there, and in fact there will be more of them!:-P In the meantime, if you've done all the older super-bosses already, then that's just all there is. :-)
>Sadly, the game SHOWS you these superbosses LONG before a F2P player you can really do anything about them -> this is part of their gacha strategy to encourage you to spend irl money to pull Power Creep chars who can do it
Huh, I never noticed any superbosses when I was progressing in the story...the only I ever ran into by accident was Mimi (although I don't know if she still counts as a "superboss" these days). I've always had to refer to the wiki to find any of the superbosses...BUT, I do believe you, as I think that makes a lot of sense; WFS likely wants to encourage people to spend money and keep pulling until they get top-tier units. I guess I'm fortunate to have never seen them, or I might have been tempted to spend real money to get all of the best units haha.
>Though you can put off the latter until later, when you are more prepared?
Although, now that I think about it, I might actually have the best units. I have: Pichika, AS Tsubame, Melissa, ES Tsukiha, Necoco, both Tiramisu's and Victor's. And I have all zones. And I likely have more broken units that I'm likely spacing on atm.
So I should realistically be able to take on most superbosses, but I still for the life of me >!can't defeat the freakin' dancing mushroom in the Parallel time layer.!< I probably just suck at this game lol, ah well.
But that exact mushroom drops grasta materials - as does the nearby Tempered Hound (you see it by going backwards through the place that you first came out from, so yeah you have to go a TINY bit out of your way to find it, just like the mushroom a bit off the path). Yet you *can* see it as soon as chapter 25, though you couldn't use the resulting grastas until chapter 50-something/whatever. Similarly with Caroline and Justine from Mementos. I suppose the Unseen was similarly "hidden", though if you are paying attention to all the quests you would see it right away.
I don't know if you suck or not - maybe!:-P - but it's definitely not a given. All the fights prior to the optional superbosses are just about having "good" characters, but they are a radical departure from that. Many require a high level of understanding of game mechanics - Large White Lie Bug in Mementos, Cradle System Encounter, Unseen requires you to understand how to properly use the timing of "break", etc. - and many ALSO require not just good, or even *great* characters, but knowledge of how to put together a team that can do it. Generally no more than a single DPS, coupled with excellent support - offensive, defensive, maybe an appropriate zone setter, etc. I cannot emphasize enough how a random assortment of *great* characters doesn't begin to be enough. Not for THOSE challenges - they are meant to be somewhat extreme. So enjoy them, when you are ready for them!:-D
Tell yourself you’re doing Garulea ADs for the unique weapons & armor. (More achievable in the short term) Then if you happen to get some usable Grasta en-route you can add them to get across the finish line on super bosses.
Can somebody fix the Quick Links (Show Off, Salty Sunday, Friday) so that they link correctly for Mobile. Clicking on them turns up absolutely nothing.
That might be a reddit server outage then? I've had odd things going on with reddit for days now. It works for me...
That said: the mobile app is garbage - half the features that work in desktop mode don't work on the mobile, and the other half of the features only work part-way. I've asked for support help multiple times in various subs like modhelp and even help but got no responses.
(e.g. [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/qgibp7/is_it_possible_to_both_sort_and_search_by_flair/))
The issue I had is that the automated links have the benefit of automatically refreshing every week, but the detraction that while they do filter, they do not get "sorted" properly - at least in the mobile app (on my Android anyway, I dunno about iOS), though they work correctly on: desktop new-reddit, desktop & mobile old-reddit, mobile new- & old-reddit in a browser, and mobile new- & old-reddit in a browser when asking for desktop view. The ONLY place that they don't work is in the mobile app. Though I tried and couldn't find a better solution for this.
Though it sounds like you are talking about something entirely different - like clicking them and seeing, what, NOTHING at all!? There was an Android Reddit app update 4 days ago, I can try installing that and see if I get the same behavior. Although fwiw yesterday I went searching the sub for something and again like you describe got no hits at all. It was for "Hardy", who definitely exists on this sub - which I know for certain, but also confirmed later in the day when it started working again.
So let me know if this is still happening tomorrow I guess? For today, perhaps just use the mobile browser, which always seems to work, instead of the crappy app which nlg looks nice, especially dark mode, but keeps having these crazy technical glitches all the time.
Thanks for the reply. Usually if I click on the Quick Links separately, it'll show each weekly thread (albeit out of order like you mentioned and not the newest one listed first at the top) but lately it's been literally showing nothing at all. Like, it's not finding anything to list. It just shows up as an empty page.
I'm so used to using the Mobile app that I've become used to the layout and such.
I can manually type in a keyword using the search function, but I'd rather not type and use the Quick Link.
Hopefully the issue is on Reddits end and it'll go back to normal.
FWIW, I also use Android.
Anything to focus on besides the story quests at around chapter 35?
I've been zigzagging my way about things and have a fairly solid main group. Most battles are 1 turn and the boss battles are 2 or 3 turns. There are some characters I really want to get to level 5 or max out but can't until much further in the story. I play a lot of the side quests, character quests, and am stuck on the mythos quests because I am not far enough into the story.
Basically all I have is a sort of roadblock to get to a certain point in the story before I can really do much more it seems. I can fish, do cat stuff, and fluff like that.
I really don't like progressing the story until everything is done but now I feel like everything is done that can be.
My main characters are 80 or close to 80 and I have a well rounded group to choose from if needed.
Should I just take some time and go through the story? I keep feeling like I am at the very end but some character quests mention needing to complete storyline chapter 54 or so before unlocking the quest so I sort of feel safe moving forward. Any advice?
You'd probably get more views/comments if you post this inside the Weekly Help & Questions thread as opposed to here in Freetalk Friday.
Makes sense after talking about peanut butter and jelly so much.
Should I upgrade Victor to his AS or wait for Premaya?
On the one hand Victor will help my Male only team for Elemental Battles.
On the other hand, Premaya!
Chants are my limiting factor, I have 25 but I have more than 5 characters I want to upgrade!
It's a tough call. Given that you're low on Chants though, I'd probably just say wait and hold off would be the wisest option.
Thanks! Blew all my keys, got 5 more chants! So now I’m really debating! XD
Five more Chants!? All from the wild?
Hit the end of Cape, got a rare room, and one at the end.
My luck is feast and famine
Gotcha. Congrats on the Chants and lucky RNG. And good luck with the decision making!
Thanks! I’m still leaning towards no! XD
I really hope Anniversary SDE will include at least up to Garam, not just AS.Tsubame.
I hope they'll include up to Isuka ES
I'll be legit upset if Daisy isn't included.
What is your ideal peanut butter to jelly ratio on a PB&J sandwich?
I like 2 times more PB than jelly.
I'm the opposite. I like 2 times the jelly (strawberry) vs. the peanut butter.
Same here. Having a bit more excess Jelly helps keep the "peanut butter mouth" from forming.
I definitely prefer a chunky peanut butter to creamy.
Also, sometimes I'll blend honey with the peanut butter, effing delicious. Sometimes I'll just have peanut butter and honey sandwiches :D
This is a little different but I have been eating far too much peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. For months.
It doesn't exactly answer your question. Mine is 2:1 peanut butter/jelly of creamy and 1:1 chunky.
But try making a bread pudding style bowl sometime. A person posted about it on the cooking sub. Basically just mix the peanut butter and jelly with some bread crumbles in a bowl and gently microwave it. Eat it with a spoon.
It really, really changes things and makes the sandwich into a warm dessert. Just a suggestion.
That's inventive! Maybe you and I could come up with something like PBJ enchiladas. Roll up some torillas in a dish with some PB and then make a jelly sauce...
That actually made me think of Chinese food. Fried peanut butter dumplings (?) and a jelly sauce. Use chop sticks. It would be easy. We could open a restaurant featuring peanut butter and jelly fusion dishes with exotic jellies and other butters of nuts.
Genius! Since I'm from the southwest US I'll concoct something with pinon nut butter and green chile marmalade...
Damn that is a good idea. I'll have to come up with something. I'm in the south east so maybe some seasoned and smoked nuts made into a butter. Use corn bread fritters? Hmm.
Deep fried peanut butter balls? With jelly drizzle!
Peanut butter and jelly popcorn.
Both of you two are making me hungry! 😁
I do peanut butter and nutella with a 60-40 nutella ratio. I also use Justins honey peanut butter but will use skippy natural if im in the mood for smooth peanut butter
Does anyone think the patch will be coming out before Tuesday? I’ve been saving my gem keys!
It's hard to say, we'll just have to wait for the Notice to arrivre. But with that said, I've already used up my weekly keys. I couldn't be patient.
I had two comments I wanted to make a few days ago and thought I'd just wait for Free Talk Friday to refresh.
I have forgotten both of them. Oh well.
Alchemy Stars got a Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid collab and i feel that AE needs one too! Not optional!
Would it be wrong to download the game just for Kanna?
Kanna is top tier.
It’s expected that you do so
Is Kanna free for all? or gacha?
Looks like Fafnir is free, but you can then get one of the others for free at 5* not sure if you can pick or random. Kanna and Tohru appear to be 6* so I'm guessing pure gacha for them.
I don't actually play the game, just my quick googling.
My stupid job required me to get the covid booster and for the first 8 hours I was fine but then I started getting really cold and shivering despite my room being a toasty 70 degrees. Then my body started feeling really warm but still aggressively shivering. That crap gave me a fever and put me out of commission the whole day.
The first vaccine I took wasn't even that bad. How long this gonna keep up? Things going back to normal feels like a pipe dream now. 😔
That sucks. I contracted and finally just got over whatever that Omicron variation was.
Felt like trash for a at least a week, but symptoms lingered for 2+ weeks. Lost my sense of taste and smell, but it's finally back to being normal.
It's the worst isn't it?! Especially if you lose your sense of taste! And now we're probably well on our way to a Unicron or Megatron variant! 😂😑
Lol, Unicorn or Megatron variant. Made me laugh.
But yeah, it definitely sucked. It didn't matter what I ate or drank, everything tasted the same and sooo bland. Probably could have eaten cardboard and not noticed 😄
With how long it was lasting, I was legitimately asking myself...ummm...is my sense of smell/taste ever coming back!?
That lasts for like a day though - or at least it did for me. COVID itself may not be all that bad for some, but for most people it's the sickest they will ever be in their entire life, and then there are long-term effects that are pretty scary. So it's a cost-benefit trade-off where you take the certainty of feeling bad for a short while vs. the possibility of REALLY bad effects later, just like the flu shot but with a different input set of probabilities of the issues leading to potentially vastly different outcomes (e.g., many people who would choose to NOT take the flu shot WILL choose to take the vaccine).
Mandates are of course a WHOLE other thing - the needs of society vs. individuals, and without getting too deep I will say that if a hospital wants to require that their workers be up to date on their vaccinations, that is a well-established precedent and far different than people busting down the doors, literally holding people down and forcing needles into people. Which countries like China might *actually* do, and countries like Germany (or maybe just parts of it?) I heard were not letting people even go into a grocery store without it. After that, it's a continuum: should food & other service workers be forced to take it too, especially if customers in an area will boycott companies that don't do it? Anyway I don't want to get deep here b/c it's immensely complicated.
But mainly I wanted to say that while individual choices can be perfectly respectable - if people want to risk dying, or not, either way that's their choice? - yet what I do NOT respect is those entitled pricks walking up to people and pulling the masks off their faces:-(. That's not funny at all - their "rights" to not have to see people wearing masks is NOT a thing. Also the amount of misinformation going around is just...staggering. No matter what politics someone has I think we can mostly agree on at least the fact that it's happening - e.g. vaccine companies holding back information, and various "news" organizations spreading panic & fear & all sorts of other stuff. I'm venting in part b/c a local TV news station where I'm at recently said that people should avoid going even to grocery stores for the next \~5 weeks. I THINK THAT'S REALLY IRRESPONSIBLE TO HAVE SAID!!!:-( (important point: I'm in the USA where vaccines are provided free of charge to anyone who will take them, and many places even offer financial incentive to do so). People with the vaccine don't need to avoid going out, while people who don't have it won't listen anyway -> all that statement (seems like it) will do is cause a panic-run on stores which will deplete the stocks and engender hoarding behavior. SMH...:-( SO MUCH MISINFORMATION, leading to harm people.
Well... I was mostly just bitching that my job was gonna deny me access to a building that I *needed* to get into to work mandated I get that booster and it made me sick for a day and I had to call out and not even get sick time for it... not trying to convince anyone not to get it, a serious debate I ain't tryna get into on a gaming forum.
But yea when I had covid without any vaccination, I endured an agonizing 10 (or was it 12?) days with on and off fevers, bodily fluids exiting me violently, and stuff. 1 day being sick was nothing compared to that. Not to mention my taste buds were screwed for like a month, that was the worst part, you feel better but everything you eat taste like how the pet food aisle smells like.
I hope we dont get to that point where government officials start breaking down doors to forcefully inject needles into us... lol, I only see that happening if the virus starts evolving into something that can turn us into zombies or something lol
But the pandemic is causing a lot of people to act really shitty, from ripping masks off as you said or straight up assaulting Asians. I actually didn't know about the violence against Asians until this weird white lady was trying to apologize to me for something I didn't even I experience. "Excuse young man what ethnicity are you?"
"Oh... I'm sorry for all the hate or violence my people must have caused you and other Asians during this pandemic... It must have been hard feeling unsafe in a town where it's mostly us white people" ....umm.... k... 😂
Misinformation and mass hysteria always seem to go hand in hand during times like this... shameful...
And if we get to the point of them locking down again and we can't even go to the grocery store... well. They better gimme another $1400 or pay my delivery fees! 😤
Damn, that's really shitty that they require it of you yet don't allow you to take time off for it:-( I was in the same boat - I had started a new job, which didn't have any PTO at all to start with - so just had to suffer through it at work.:-( I really screwed things up too, not realizing quite how "out of it" I was even. Kind their fault for making it be that way but...it also affects me too!:-(
And now I read in the last couple days how many European governments are just giving up - calling it quits and saying that this is just the way it's going to be from now on. People refuse to abide by lockdowns so...they just won't have them, and instead let people be. They'll even remove the mandatory testing requirements for people coming in on flights -> they found that with the virus already being there and so prevalent, there really hasn't been any difference with letting in even more people with the virus. In short, that ship has sailed and they're now discussing more "acceptable losses" rather than full containment / zero tolerance approaches.
Yeah that violence issue was definitely even worse than what I said about the mask ripping - leaders wanted to deflect blame from their own mishandling/bungling of the situation, so they blamed another country, then somehow idiots translated that to like anyone who looks remotely Chinese (in THEIR eyes - even like...Indians or Mexicans or some such - just haters hating and looking for someone to hit). Then too, in response comes...wait for it...White Guilt! Yeah that's definitely a thing too:-P. At least the entitled lady deigned to notice her privilege at one point, that's probably a good sign. :-)
I dunno what to think about the future, but definitely a LOT of shaking up going on in the present.
Also, since you're here anyway, give me Daisy flair. 😤
u/ChadEriksen: we desperately need you to be better now - Daisy demands your urgent attention!!:-P
Ah he's sick is he? I had no idea. I thought he had abandoned ship and left you to pick up the slack because he got shafted by gacha or something.
In that case no rush, get well soon Dark Overlord ChadEriksen 🙏
Sadly [he got COVID](https://www.reddit.com/r/AnotherEdenGlobal/comments/rzwhi2/another_eden_the_cat_beyond_time_and_space/hrys8c1) and has been recovering. But we ~~want~~ NEED him back ASAP!:-D
In Canada we have to wait for our booster. High risk is getting their third, but i myself still won’t be eligible for a month+
I got mine this past Friday with my gf and we work from home! It might depend on availability and what part of the country you live in though.
Ontario is a petri dish lately, so maybe we just have more booster appointments available.
I’m in BC. It’s riding a fine line between a blessing and a curse. Luckily my life didn’t change much when the pandemic hit. Not like i was going anywhere anyways :)
The fact that you're all not turned into ice cubes is a miracle itself, what is there now, like -40°???
Luckily i live in a warmer part of Canada so it’s around 8 degrees Celsius.
I think that just depends on what are of Canada you're from :D
One of my friends lives in Ontario where it's waaaay tf in the negs, so out of curiosity I searched what -40 celsius is in fahrenheit and it's exactly the same... at first I didn't believe it and thought maybe the online calculator got confused but nope, it's so cold it equalized the difference between celsius and fahrenheit 😂
Yeh it's been a mild winter but below minus 20 for the past week or so. Humid cold so it's even worse! I think my pipes froze 😅
i got cold when i had my first shot but my second one was fine. looking forward to my third.
From what I've heard, how you reacted to shot 2 is how you'll react to shot 3, but shot 1 and shot 2 can be entirely different.
Ftr, shot 1 laid me out for a day. Shot 2 was nothing, and so was shot 3.
My brother was also required to get his third since he was in the Naval Academy and he didn't get any side effects from it... so your mileage may vary...
I'm actually glad that when a fish bites, the picture zooms in. It tells you when to tap but also noticeable enough from the corner of your eyes. I've been grinding the fishing the last couple of days while reading comics online thanks to that.
When a fish bites your device also vibrates in a burst.
I find my touch to be more reliable than my sight so I’m happy that’s a thing.
Ah. I turn off vibration on my phone because I don't like feeling vibrations on my fingers. But it's a good thing they added these little things that make fishing easier. It would be very frustrating and boring if you also have to pay close attention to it.
Just finished chapter 25 and some sidequests, and I have to ask, >!does Human Varuo ever make a reappearance and does it get explained why in his timeline, Aldo and Feinne are no longer with him?!<
>!Also, can Aldo shapeshift like that Future(?)/Alter(?) Varuo since at the end of Chapter 25 we see him in his cat form initially then turn into Aldo which kinda sorta implies he can? This is important to me because Sorik/Kyros is a very pretty cat and I want to know if I should be anticipating his return.!<
The answer to both questions is "not yet, even in JP"
Apparently I need to rewatch that part of the story-line, because I have no recollection of "Human Varuo" being a thing.
It's part of the ULTIMANIA side quest.
I completely forgot about that hammer. Man, I wonder where I left off at...
That's so sad... I wanna see that little girl's lost cat some day.
Happy Anniversary to Another Eden.
I'm excited to see what we'll get for the Anniversary.
On another note I returned to Priconne JP and starting from scratch and still somehow got nearly the exact team I had when I started the game a year ago which makes me happy.
I'm excited for the Anni Livestream. Theoretically, that would need to premier before the Mythos actually releases to detail all the things that come with it.
~~Also here's hoping they put Isuka ES and Parallel Isuka on one banner~~
>~~Also here's hoping they put Isuka ES and Parallel Isuka on one banner~~
They probably won't and they'll be separate releases. They'd likely make more revenue that way by getting (or tempting) people to pull on the banners separately.
When is it?
We don't know it hasn't been announced yet. But we can infer that is sometime before Saturday of next week.
