Chop the potatoes up before boiling them (I do it without the skin). After they're cooked through and pretty much falling apart, pass the potatoes through a mesh sieve. After doing this, add butter, cream and some seasoning. I promise you it'll be the smoothest mashed potato you've ever had. If you don't have a mesh sieve, a fork/whisk would work too (do this when the potatoes are still super hot). It won't be as smooth but it still tastes delicious!

Thank you! I may have to do this with the skin

Naughtyexperiences

Go out and buy a masher. You can get one for 5 bucks.

I'm 17 and in an independent living program and between jobs :( plus I already have a blender

SoVeryKerry

Mashed potatoes become pasty when whipped with a mixer, and I imagine it’s the same with a blender.

grotesk1tty

Is pasty bad?

redseaurchin

Yes. Like glue. Add milk, use fork

grotesk1tty

Alright. I think I've finally figured it out, helped!

Don't try that. The potatoes become really starchy and sticky.

grotesk1tty

Word ok fork time

It does not matter how, just make sure it tastes good. Blender might be a harder to clean. Screw the made up rules.

I agree
